Shyness is also a blessing, protecting you from so many stupid mistakes that the extroverts make so easily. Except on particular occasions and in particular situations I do not see shyness as a deficit to be overcome! Though like any other personality trait carried to an extreme it may be. But I’d rather live in a world or culture with more shy people than one like the “modern” Western world that favours extreme extroversion :(
