Jürgen Moltmann is to give the 2010 public Lenten Lectures at The American Church in Paris on the following topics:
- “The Passion of Christ – Compassion of God” – Tuesday, March 16
- “The Passion of Christ – God’s Solidarity with Victims” – Wednesday, March 17
- “What does Christ’s passion mean for God?” – Thursday, March 18
More details here.
I’m so miffed that I can’t be there.
Moltmann has never been my cup of tea, but then I am more Irish Reformed overall. Jurgen, married to a feminist and has four daughters! I wonder if he gets a word in at home? lol I have two sons, and a conservative minded wife, but she has her own mind!

Does anyone know if these will be recorded? Made available online at some point?

BTW, the best book that I read myself was one Moltmann’s early 70’s books, the Cruicfied God.

Robert, what was/is it about The Crucified God that gripped you the most deeply, and/or that you found the most helpful?

Jason,
I must confess it has been many years ago that I read it, but if I remember I liked his aspect of Luther. And the word “existenial” was popular in those days, and he used it well thelogically.

I am not adverse to Moltmann really, I just liked his earlier stuff better.
