Jobs for historians? – yeah right!

Scott, Great moments in New Zealand history

… that’s what I thought, but it seems that the Waitangi Tribunal, a permanent commission of inquiry that researches and reports on claims submitted by Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975, is serious about seeking to appoint two historians and one senior historian.

  • Information on the historian positions, including the job description and application form and process, is available here.  Applications close 19 July.

  2. I am, of course, well aware of that, Ali. The post’s title was tongue in cheek. Never been much good at humour, and it seems that I’ve failed again :-( Trust that you’re well, and that you’re making headway on your exciting work.

  3. Oops … my bad! I wonder what will happen to all those historians if the settlements are ever ‘finished’?! All’s good thanks – trying to keep warm by working at home today.

  4. Ali, I can envision no time in the future – not even in the new creation! – when the tasks charged to historians will be over. (But if I’m wrong, there will always be pizzas to deliver ;-)) [N.B. The second sentence is a further attempt at humour ;-)]

On the other note, I’m so pleased to hear that the project is progressing, and that you’re doing your best to keep unsoggy.
